DESCRIPTION
MS-688 Acetic Structural Silicone Sealant is one-component, acetoxy cure, high quality silicone sealant designed for big glass and other general purpose glazing and waterproofing application. It’s a non-toxic, solvent-free silicone sealant for use in aquarium construction and glazing applications. It’s a high-quality acetic curing system based silicone sealant featuring excellent adhesion to glass and many other non-porous surfaces. It has high tensile strength and good elasticity, excellent weatherability, stability, waterproof and good adhesion to most construction materials without a primer.
CHARACTERISTICS
1. It is RTV-1, acetoxy, curing at room temperature, high intensity, medium modulus, fast curing and good elasticity, optimum adhesion to glass.
2. Excellent weathering resistance and durability.
3. To float glass, anodized aluminum material needn’t base coating, it has a strong felt power.
4. After cured, it can bear joint movement capability of ±20%.
MAIN USE
1. Fixing and glazing for glass structural for all kinds of architectural curtain wall.
2. Jointing and sealing for all kinds of ornamental glass engineering.
3. Big glass panels, aquarium, swimming pool sanitary works and other glass engineering.
4. Suitable for glass and aluminum structures.
5. Glazing on aluminum frames and shop displays.
6. Sealing for windows and doors.
7. Many other building construction and industry applications.
USE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Clean with solvents such as toluene or acetone to keep the substrate surfaces completely clean and dry.
2. For better appearance, cover outside of joint areas with masking taps before application.
3. Cut seal on top of cartridge. Screw on nozzle and cut the nozzle at 45°angle to the desired size and extrudes sealant to joint areas.
4. Tool immediately after sealant application and remove masking tape before sealant skins.
USE RESTRICTIONS
1. Unsuitable for curtain wall structural adhesive.
2. Unsuitable for the airproof location, because it is required to absorb moisture in air to cure for the sealant.
3. Unsuitable for the frosty or moist surface.
4. Unsuitable for the continually soggy place.
5. Can’t be used if the temperature is below 4°C or above 40°C on the surface of the material.
SAFETY RECOMMENDATION
1. The silicone sealant will release volatile compound during curing, it may be bad to health if you breathe in the volatile compound for a long time. So please ensure adequate ventilation at the workplace or curing area.
2. The cured silicone sealant will not release any harmful substance and cause any damage to human body.
3. Keep uncured silicone sealant beyond children's reach. If getting into eyes, wash with running water for several minutes, and then consult a doctor.
