DESCRIPTION
MS-789 Multi Purpose Neutral Silicone Sealant is a one-component, neutral curing silicone sealant with excellent adhesion, weatherability and elasticity for weather sealing in curtain wall and building facades, especially suits applications in the areas with large difference in temperature and low humidity. It easily extrudes in any weather and quickly cures at room temperature by reaction with moisture in the air to form a durable silicone rubber seal.
CHARACTERISTICS
1. One-component, neutral-cured with excellent adhesion, weatherability and elasticity for weather sealing in curtainwall and building facades.
2. Excellent weatherability and high resistance to ultraviolet radiation, heat and humidity, ozone and temperature extremes.
3. It has good adhesion and compatibility with most building material.
4. Remain flexible over a temperature range of -40℃ to 150℃.
MAIN USE
1. For weatherproofing sealing nonstructural curtain wall joints, facade joints and system.
2. Weather sealing in metal (not including copper), glass, stone, aluminium panel and plastic.
3. It is suitable for general glazing and for general weatherproof joints between different substrates including glass, aluminum, enamel, brick, concrete and ceramic tiles etc.
4. Sealing for coated glass, with the materials mainly made from polycarbonate and large glass.
5. Sealing for windows and doors.
6. Excellent adhesive to most common building material.
USE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Clean with solvents such as toluene or acetone to keep the substrate surfaces completely clean and dry.
2. For better appearance, cover outside of joint areas with masking taps before application.
3. Cut seal on top of cartridge. Screw on nozzle and cut the nozzle at 45°angle to the desired size and extrudes sealant to joint areas.
4. Tool immediately after sealant application and remove masking tape before sealant skins.
USE RESTRICTIONS
1. Unsuitable for curtain wall structural adhesive.
2. Unsuitable for the airproof location, because it is required to absorb moisture in air to cure for the sealant.
3. Unsuitable for the frosty or moist surface.
4. Unsuitable for the continually soggy place.
5. Can’t be used if the temperature is below 4°C or above 40°C on the surface of the material.
SAFETY RECOMMENDATION
1. The silicone sealant will release volatile compound during curing, it may be bad to health if you breathe in the volatile compound for a long time. So please ensure adequate ventilation at the workplace or curing area.
2. The cured silicone sealant will not release any harmful substance and cause any damage to human body.
3. Keep uncured silicone sealant beyond children's reach. If getting into eyes, wash with running water for several minutes, and then consult a doctor.
